“Nearly all men can stand adversity, if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

Yes, it’s time to create a “Heroes” section on Succcess.org! With so many remarkable successes in this world, both past and present, this is a great way to inspire our collective will AND validate the “3 C” formula.

I know from personal experience that reading about and meeting truly successful people has always helped to provide motivation.

CERTAINTY and FAILURE

“If you want a guarantee, buy a toaster.”
~Clint Eastwood

Seems we all want a guarantee these days.

Similar to the microwave ‘complex’ (post) the majority of people seem to fear failure. They seek certainty. Who can blame them? Unfortunately, the problem with certainty is it simply doesn’t exist- not in this world. Don’t take my word for it. Consider this quote straight out of Wikipedia, “It is widely held that certainty is a failed historical enterprise“. How good is that?

The absence of any certainty creates FEAR.

The Belief Tree: Why Success is Binary

"Whether you think you can or you can't,
you are right."
~Henry Ford

This quote, in my estimation, may be Ford’s best invention. Perhaps, even better than his invention of the automobile for mass production.

It explains succinctly, and yet very accurately, the vital role of BELIEF in the workings of your life. You simply can’t be successful in any endeavor if you don’t first start with the proper mindset - a belief in your ultimate success.

Yes, your mindset - how you view the world and your place within it -and your belief “system” (related paradigm) control your ability to reach your intended target. And, here’s the kicker–FROM THE VERY START!

Our core beliefs fall into two MASTER categories which are not unlike the core underlying “boot” records in computer terminology - which are called Master Boot Records. *more* »

The Oak Tree vs. The Microwave

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago.
The second best time is now.” ~Chinese Proverb

There are many young adults today completely lost. Totally disillusioned and frustrated.

So many fine young men and women in their 20s, 30s, and even 40’s who’ve lost touch with the natural maturation process of personal development and personal success. These individuals seek instant gratification. They want success, and they want it now! The phrase, “paying your dues” unfortunately, doesn’t register or doesn’t apply to them . . . or so they think.

Why? I’m thinking you can go ahead and blame it on the microwave oven. Yes, the microwave oven. Think about it, these same “kids” are now adults and they’ve only known one thing — instant gratification! Need a quick meal? Pop it in the microwave. How about some leftovers - throw it in the microwave. The trusty microwave has now made the concept of “waiting” obsolete.

Consider that on some Freudianesque level, one of our most basic needs - food (warm food) has been relegated to a 30 second episode. There are now multiple generations programmed for instant gratification.

Over the last 30 years the microwave has subconsciously programmed millions of youth to think that they can have anything — right away. Whether it’s a pizza or, I humbly submit to you, success. *more* »

The Final Discipline, Indeed - The Eagle has Landed

I don’t like to write, but I love to have written.”

Michael Kani

Completing “SUCCCESS, The 3 C’s” was undoubtedly one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done. Perhaps, because I have other time commitments however, I’m not so sure that is why. The discipline and mental focus required to complete a book was unlike anything and nearly as challenging as running a company.

I’ve been working on “The 3 C’s” for almost three years, compiling various thoughts, ideas and theories. To see them now finally crystallize here, into “The 3 C’s” has been a beautiful thing to behold. The number of hours that went into writing, re-writing and editing… seemingly over and over, are too numerous to count.

I expected to be finished with the book in February! Yet, each early, 4am writing session brought about new ideas and theories to incorporate. Instead of getting it done - the project just kept growing!

The incredible irony for me was, here I’m writing about the final “discipline”, the act of completion (which is the final “C” of the 3 C’s) and yet I was struggling immensely to finish the book!

Yet, having said all that, I’ve finally won that battle. There she is folks – just to the left,The 3 C’s

Stress Free Egret - by mikebaird

“What do you do?” he asked, wondering how I manage stress. I must have had a mouth full of food “meditate”, I told him. He nodded his head knowingly and said - “right, which ones?” I looked at him strangely. “What?” I said. He then said, “What kind of medications do you take?” I quickly chuckled. Then realizing the serious nature of his misunderstanding…

“No man MEDITATE not MEDICATE” I said.

One of the most common requests I get is from people asking for ways to better manage stress. These are stressful times - OILflation combined with the remnants of a housing bubble aren’t making it any easier for anyone!

The other day, I was having lunch with a very successful fortune 500 executive (mid acquisition). Frankly, this great man was stressed beyond belief as company politics had him a state of fear. He was concerned about some “higher-ups” and some moves they may make.

LOSER!?

LOSER

Excerpt from “The 3C’s” The Ebook
by Mitch W. Steel

“There are two ways to live: You can live as if nothing is a miracle; or, you can live as if everything is a miracle.”
Albert Einstein

Either everything is a miracle or nothing is. So which is it?

That is a question you ought to dwell upon for a good, long while. For, it suggests that if you consider ANYTHING a miracle – then, everything ought to be considered such. And, since you don’t have answers to everything – this would suggest then that everything is indeed a miracle. Taken one step further then – you (my brother or sister) are part of everything. Therefore, you are a miracle! You are NO loser!
